WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
HOLISTIC massage / bodywork
AND
RMT (Registered massage therapy)?

In British Columbia, Registered Massage Therapy is a regulated healthcare profession, oriented toward the clinical treatment of physical injury and pain.
Holistic Bodywork, as offered at Wave Bodywork, lives in a different realm.
Rather than diagnosing or fixing, it is a practice of listening —
to the body, the breath, and the subtle language of the nervous system.
Through mindful, attuned touch, this work honours the inseparable nature of body, mind, and spirit, creating the conditions for deep rest, self-awareness, and inner harmony.
The intention is not to treat a condition, but to invite the whole person
back into balance, safety, and presence.

Every session at Wave Bodywork is uniquely tailored to you and to how your body is presenting on the day of your visit. Rather than following a fixed routine, I draw from a range of modalities to meet your individual needs.
Your session may include elements of Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage,
Lomilomi, and my signature Deep Flow approach.

With over 18 years of hands-on practice, I have cultivated refined body‑reading skills — the ability to listen beneath surface tension and respond to what the tissues, breath, and nervous system are communicating in each moment. Technique and intuition work together here; skill provides the structure, and presence guides the rhythm.

I work with the understanding that healing occurs most naturally when the body feels safe, respected, and met with care. Sessions are offered with a calm, grounded quality of touch, inviting relaxation without force and supporting the body’s own capacity to rebalance.

Many clients leave feeling deeply relaxed and grounded, with a renewed sense of connection to themselves — body, heart, and inner landscape. Others notice clarity, softness, or a gentle return of vitality. Each experience is unique, and all are welcome.

What to Expect in Your First Session:

Your first session at Wave Bodywork is an invitation to slow down,
arrive, and be met with care.
We begin with a short, unhurried conversation. You are welcome to share as much or as little as you like about what brings you in, how your body has been feeling, and any areas of sensitivity or concern. This time is also an opportunity to ask questions, express preferences, and name boundaries. Nothing is assumed, and everything is optional.

My work is trauma‑informed and centred on nervous system regulation. Your sense of safety, choice, and comfort always comes first. You remain in control throughout the session and are encouraged to speak up at any time — whether you would like more or less pressure, a change in focus, a pause, or to stop altogether.
Your yes, your no, and your not sure are all welcome.

Once on the table, the session unfolds slowly and intuitively. I work with mindful, grounded touch and continuous attunement, listening carefully to your body’s signals. The pace is intentionally unhurried, allowing the nervous system to settle
and the tissues to soften organically, without force or expectation.

You may notice your breath deepening, sensations of warmth or flow, emotional release, or simply a profound sense of rest. There is no right way to feel during or after a session.
Some people leave feeling deeply relaxed and grounded; others feel clearer, more spacious, or quietly resourced. Sometimes the effects continue to unfold over the hours or days that follow, as your nervous system integrates the work.

Above all, my intention is to offer a calm, respectful, and nurturing space where your body feels listened to and supported — exactly as it is.

If you have any questions before or after your first session, you are always welcome to reach out. Your comfort and care truly matter here.
